    President/Owner

    A seasoned leader with decades of experience in the world of long-term care facilities, Shannon cares deeply about the people who work in long-term care, and is a passionate voice contributing to the betterment of long-term care in Canada. A member of several professional organizations, Shannon uses his background in law and cachet in various associations to make care more affordable, accessible and compassionate.

  • Marcus Stephenson, BBA, DHSA

    Chief Executive Officer

    Marcus brings 15 years of healthcare management experience and a background in business administration and health services to long-term care facilities to set them up for financial success with lessons he learned on the frontlines.

  • Kora Stephenson

    Chief Operating Officer

    Kora leads the development and implementation of strategic initiatives across the organization. In this role, she works closely with senior leadership to operationalize and align policy, legislation, standardize operations, and drive system-wide planning, all with a strong focus on resident-centered care and cross-team collaboration.

    Kora is a dual-qualified lawyer (Canada & Australia) with a diverse background in health law, elder law, and healthcare leadership.

  • Shelley Jones, BN, RN

    Long-Term Care (LTC) Consultant

    Shelley has over 37 years of experience in healthcare, and brings her strategic, creative and solution-focused take to facility operations. While working in the provincial government she has led large initiatives to improve healthcare for Nova Scotians. She received the Premier’s Award of Excellence in 2021 for recognition of outstanding public service to Nova Scotians.

  • Angela Michaud, DBA, CPHR Candidate

    Director of Human Resources

    Angela’s work in the field consists of supporting people and enabling smooth operations. With several certificates in HR-related fields, Angela uses careful observation, pre-emptive action and early engagement to solve problems before they snowball.

  • Tyrell Giffin, BComm, CPA

    Director of IT and Business Integration

    Highcrest’s financial guru, that’s Tyrell. A Chartered Professional Accountant who helps care facilities manage their finances for smooth and uninterrupted operations, Tyrell provides hands-on, on-site guidance to facilities under Highcrest’s care.

  • Steve Scannell, BA. MPA, MA, DHSA (on-going)

    Director of Strategic Initiatives

    With a background in public administration, Steve brings collaborative and community-minded approaches learned over years in the municipal world to long-term care administration. Valuing transparency and accountability, he works to establish alignment and trust between his management team and the governing board to ensure that everyone is rowing in the same direction.

  • Conrad Leblanc, BA, LL.B

    Legal Advisor

    Conrad uses sound strategy and positioning to keep Highcrest pointed toward its north star: Innovation. His background in law and experience in leadership roles help the Highcrest team navigate complex challenges.

  • Amanda MacDougall

    Director of Clinical Services

    Amanda leads the management of nursing and care services to incorporate clinical best practices into high quality, safe and appropriate care. In this role, she works closely with senior leadership to align clinical best practices with policy and procedures to guide staff in their daily practice and provision of care to residents and families.

    Amanda is passionate about building a culture of care built on resident advocacy, informed decision making and honoring personhood to achieve individualized person-centered care.

  • Leonard Maceachern

    Director of Capital and Asset Management

    Leonard leads the identification, funding, and execution of infrastructure initiatives across the organization. In this role, he works closely with facility administrators to assess and prioritize urgent capital needs, develops funding proposals for submission to the Department of Health and Wellness, and liaises directly with departmental infrastructure managers to advance High-Crest’s capital priorities.

  • Jennifer Demers

    Director of Accounting

    Jennifer is the dedicated Controller at High-Crest Enterprises Limited and Highcrest Solutions, bringing over 20 years of comprehensive finance and accounting expertise to the role. As a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Jennifer plays a key role in overseeing financial operations and leading the accounting department with a focus on strategic budgeting, detailed financial analysis, and accurate reporting for both internal and external stakeholders.

    Strategic Initiatives Coordinator

    Laurie brings a wealth of knowledge and over 18 years of clinical and operational experience in Long-Term Care to High-Crest Solutions. Celebrated as a trailblazer in the field, Laurie is a passionate leader who is deeply committed to enhancing both staff and resident experiences. With a diverse background in recreation, sciences, and project management.  Laurie is committed to lifelong learning and possesses an undeniable talent for spotting opportunities to drive positive change and innovation.
